Staycation Station!
Had a great time today out and about! It seems like the longer you live in a place the harder it is to remember the charm and excitment that drew you to it in the first place.
The city of Palatka florida that I am from boast a beautiful small atmosphere that I have been proud to call my own for a long time. From the riverfronts to recreation andhistorical land marks pulled straight from a history book!
Today I visited the railway museum.
Now this station has been prominate in Palatka Fl ssnse 1908. It's not to big, but as something to do it makes a pretty cool adventure for tots of all ages.
Waiting around for any transportation source to arrive can be pretty draining due to layovers and things of that nature, but in this train station we have plenty to do.
Exciting for kids and enthusiast of all ages would be the numerous antique collectible trains from the 1900s and beyond.
While here I was sure to take a few photos of the one's I found most intereating.
Nice! If I could take one of these home to put around my tree at Christmas 🎄 that would be perfect! Imagine how that would look all lit up!
Some of the smaller trains pictured below seem quiet juvenile in appearance, but they are actually quite rare and very valuable.
Just a few more items like the antique typewriter above, placed perfectly to set the stage for a timeless event. A trip dowm memory lane with the clear intent of catching your eye and drawing into a conductors palace. I'll call it that, because it seems just that nice to be in the prescence of some of these magical pieces.
Snippets of the arrival and travel car.
I was even able to sneak on board and capture the moment, thanks to the ticket taker. Amazing I haven't been on a train sense kindergarten! Look at me .....like a kid in candy store I couldn't have been more excited!
